By accessing VITAP Updates, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the service.

1. Disclaimer of Affiliation

VITAP Updates is an UNOFFICIAL project developed by students for students. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with VIT-AP University. All official university data should be verified on the V-TOP portal.

2. Eligibility & Registration

• You must be a currently enrolled student at VIT-AP.
• You must register using your official university email.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
• For FunRoom access, you must provide your Date of Birth, which is used solely for birthday celebrations.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to misuse the platform. Prohibited actions include:

• Attempting to bypass security mechanisms or reverse-engineer the code.
• Scraping data for commercial use.
• Posting content that is abusive, harassing, or violates university code of conduct.
• Sharing your account credentials with non-students.
• Uploading malicious files or inappropriate content to the PDF Converter or Folder & Files.
• Spamming or flooding Help Space with irrelevant content.
• Attempting to manipulate CGPA or attendance calculations with false data.

4. Feature-Specific Terms

CGPA Calculator: Calculations are based on the input you provide. We are not responsible for academic decisions made based on these calculations.

Help Space: You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a license to display it within the platform.

FunRoom: Must be used for positive community building. Harassment or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate access revocation.

Astra AI: AI-generated responses are for assistance purposes and should not be considered as official university advice.

Hostel Ratings: Reviews must be honest and based on personal experience. False or malicious reviews are prohibited.

5. Intellectual Property

The code, design, and original content of this website are the intellectual property of the developers. University logos and names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here for identification purposes only under Fair Use. Content you create (posts in Help Space, files uploaded) remains your property, but you grant us license to use it within the platform.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the developers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the service. We do not guarantee that the mess menu, academic calculations, or AI responses are 100% error-free. Always cross-check with official sources for critical academic information.

7. Service Availability

While we strive to maintain high uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible. We are not liable for any academic or personal consequences of service interruptions.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
